Explorers has been one of my most anticipated titles for quite some time, yet now that I have the game in-hand I find myself struggling to muster up enough enthusiasm to open my 3DS at all.Įverything about Explorers seems like it should be a perfect fit for my tastes and temperament. The thought of playing Explorers fills me with the same soul-suffocating weariness I normally experience at tax season, which is quite the opposite of the addiction I had been banking on. Now, several hours into the game, I find it practically intolerable.
My patience was rewarded last month when Square Enix brought the game to the U.S., and I dug into the English-language edition with gusto as soon as it appeared in my mailbox. I picked it up again a few months later through the import version and dabbled in it for a few happy hours, but quickly set it aside in hopes of a localized version. I played the game for the first time at Tokyo Game Show 2014, and I loved it. Undettered, one more young explorer arrives on the island to seek their fortune.I can't believe how much I'm not enjoying Final Fantasy Explorers. However, the eidolons, entities dedicated to defending the natural world and the crystals themselves stand in the explorers' way, making their gathering efforts a dangerous endeavour. It boasts vast wealth of naturally occuring crystals, which draws explorers from far and wide to gather their bounty. The island of Amostra was born from sudden and dramatic movements in the earch. Overall, Final Fantasy Explorer received average to postive reviews from critics. Much like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, the game is structured around quests and sub-quests. The main goal of the game is to collect crystals found around the world. Much like the recent Final Fantasy Dimensions, it is job based, but has a more open world for explorers to fight against classic Final Fantasy monsters and Eidolons. Final Fantasy Explorers is an action-RPG based Final Fantasy gamed released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japn on Decemand in North America on January 26, 2016.
